Organic extra virgin olive oil from Corfu "Thiako variety"

A most unusual olive oil, produced in Corfu from a rare local variety called Thiako, which is rich in antioxidants.

It has the name of a visionary local orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Kavvadias, who understood that olive oil was the best example of the ancient Greek saying (Hippocrates): "Let food be your medicine and medicine your food." The good doctor was ahead of his time and understood not only the health benefits of olive oil, but also the importance of “happy” trees that would produce the best fruit possible. He planted an orchard using a combination of techniques that encompass permaculture and sustainable agriculture.

Thiako variety olive oil is a balanced olive oil of medium intensity, with a strong, deliciously bitter and pungent flavor.
